River Liffey Walk

Early morning, afternoon or evening the river is always so peaceful, keep a keen out and see the salmon leaping. Behind the bridge, on the side of the hill lies Dublin City Council Water Purification Plant. Commissioned in 1943 to treat 5 million gallons of water it has expanded to become the largest purification plant in Ireland now treating 318 million litres of water per day or 3.68 tonnes per second.
